Hey! There has been a lot of buzz about this lately, so I thought I would make a journal entry based around it.

I've heard a lot of people tell me lately that they have gotten my artwork tattoo'd, thank you! I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to hear you enjoy my work on such a personal level. Most, if not all of you have contacted me and asked permission first which is truly something I have to thank you for. (I know a lot of other people who have NOT asked, and its saddening, in a way).

But here are some things I would like to bring to the table that have me a little concerned.

To start, I have not been charging individuals who want to get my piece tattoo'd. If you as a person see my work, fall in love with a piece, and love that enough to have it a part of your body, that's amazing!

But I say individuals because I HAVE had people messaging me asking to put my design in their tattoo shops to sell for profit. this is not okay. Never have I accepted someones request to place my design in any of their shops, for any one to get tattoo'd. My throat goes into my stomach when I think about people getting my work tattoo'd on them, without knowing the background, who I am or even my name.

I have heard of people who have seen strangers, seemingly with my work tattoo'd who have NO idea who drew that picture, and have to be told it is from me.

So, my biggest concern right now is the integrity of my work. I want people to enjoy it and be inspired by it, but that it means I have to give up in my name in the process, I don't think I can do that.

So here is a HUGE favor I am asking of you guys:

please , if you ever see my work in a tattoo shop, or if someone you know has had it tattoo'd without at least knowing my name, it would mean the world to me to find out at least where it came from. That way you can contact me so I can ask them to remove it, or (if you would like to) contact them yourself ask that they stop profiting from it.

It's a low, dirty thing for a shop to steal someones work and then charge someone else for that design.

First off, thanks for the lovely birthday wishes/gifts!! They are all amazing, and while I haven't quite had time to reply to everyone I want you to know how much I appreciate it. My birthday was a really awesome one. I cannot believe i'm already 23. Bring on Adulthood!

In other news:
I've been quite quite busy as of late, getting ready for an upcoming March show in LA at Wonderland Gallery ( www.wonderlandla.net/ ) that showcases work inspired by innovative and hard-working women. ANNNDDD as usual I have a shameful self promotion for a contest i've entered. Its the 3rd Ward Portfolio contest, the winner of which gets a year-long residency in NYC, a gallery show, and some prize money! I know i'm always on my DA begging you guys to do stuff for me (and, guilty as charged once again), but this residency would be REALLY COOL since i've never really been to NY for a long period of time. And creating art there would be the BIGGEST PLUS EVER.

Hey Gang! Long time no journal entries, sheesh!

Things have been crazy on my end, graduating this may and surviving off my new (and exhausting) job as a dog walker, while juggling a part-time art career is no easy task! How is everyone on here? I feel as though DA has become a shadow of what it once was . I still pay attention to you though! I absolutely love all the amazing comments and notes I get, every day. Its amazing!

I have to admit, I have an ulterior motive for posting! I just submitted a new Design to threadless t-shirts, and while its already gotten some great reviews, I thought i'd post over here to show you and maybe get some support (of course, only if you like the design! I'd never want someone to give a false vote on my account). It's a little something I drew up for my colleges past Christmas card, and thought it looked pretty neat on a shirt too.
