As you can see this was made early last year, so it obviouslyishorrendous. but i havent updated in about three months on account of school sucking up any possible time i have to work on stuff. :/
I may move this to scraps later, because....its really old. xD
Uhh...oh yeah. when i was making this, i really didnt want to make a cliche perfect anime person blahblahblah. she actually reminds me a little of those women sailors would put on the front of the ship to guide it while they were sailing (hence the title).
The ladies that go on the front of the ship are figureheads.
Well, I think it's excellent, although if you want to see it as a practice piece... well, it's a practice piece that is ultimately kickass. All the little swirls and extra lines add an interesting texture to her face -- although, I must admit, when I see her eyebrows I'm reminded of your sister drawing her's on (it's the little swirly bits, I swear).
I love her nose and the tentacles.
It's nice to see a somewhat cartoon-y person have a full sized nose. :]
I also love the dots and swirls throughout the picture.
The women were put there to frighten away the storms, a woman on board was bad luck, but a woman bearing her breasts would frighten away Posiedon and bad weather.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
