So me and =kaykaykit were talking, and we thought it would be interesting to do lineart in eachothers brush sizes (i always do lineart with 1px brush, and hers is a thicker 3px-5px brush) so heres my half of the experiment. xD; i used a 3px brush size, and the same canvas as her ;D The original is twice this size, just for those who care xD; i actually think using this size brush is fun 8D; maybe ill do it more often xD;

Now ill explain a little about this character:

His names Danahi (Pronounce "dana" as in "dunno"...fast like that xD, so Dana-he) And hes a spirit dragon <3 I've had him as a character for a while now, he was created around 8th grade in my english class while i was watching a movie, the original picture of him can be found here : [link] Colored version: [link] Aanyway. Throughout the years, i havent really drawn him, but somehow i've been so attached to him that its scary xD; oh and this is his juvenile form, he looks a lot better when hes older, i dont like this version much.

Interesting facts about him (until i get his refrence sheet up):

T he Tail: If anyone noticed, his tail has a hand like appendage. Now most of you are probably going "oh please, everyone has that ]:<" but i guess i have more reason for mine xD; SEE CAUSE, on the palm of the hand is another appendage, which is shaped like a small hole (or a mouth, for better visual) which opens and closes. The inside, however, is lined with spikes, which shoot out at prey like darts. The spikes are lined with a purple tainted poison, which knocks the prey unconcious and stops its heart. The hand, acts as two things. one: the 3 finer like appendages can close together to form a face, with the "mouth" inside serving...as...well, a mouth (its small size helps fool dinner, making them think its another small animal) the second reason its shaped as a hand is for it to clamp onto things, like a new world appendage (things like branches for balance....dinner, if it wants to drag it somewhere, ect. ect.)
Now you'd think that he'd be immune to this poison, but the poison is actually created when he kills and eats certain species of venemous wasps (they have a tendency to eat the entire nest whole) The poisonous properties are absorbed and sent down through the tail, into the glands of the hand. So, how does he eat his prey if its got the poison running through its body? easy. The saliva in his mouth acts as a antidote, which is created at the same moment the poison is absorbed. And, since this antidote is created in such rare occasions, it is only pumped through his salival glands when his adrenal glands are activated (basically, when theres a sudden rush of adrenaline, he starts drooling profusely. Gives new meaning to the phrase that someones so hungry they could drool xD; )

T he Butterfly: now the butterfly is another strange feature about this dragon...well. all dragon species infact. You see, each butterfly (whom is born on the physical plane) and each dragon (who is born on the astral plane) are connected. The butterfly represents the dragons being, its existance as a whole. The dragons astral body cannot be killed unless its physical counterpart, the butterfly, is killed as well. The butterfly above represents Danahi's physical counterpart (this butterfly has yet to exist on earth, mind you ;D which is basically saying this species of dragon hasnt yet appeared on earth) Each dragon's counterpart is different, like a zebras stripes, but depending on the species they will have similar features. (IE: a species of dragon whome is mostly black and white, will have black and white butterflys as counterparts, but the butterflys designs will differ depending on the dragons individual features) Ah yes. By now most people are thinking that....butterflies dont live long, so how can dragons? WELL. let me explain it to you. when a butterfly dies, its dragon counterpart doesnt necessarily die as well, it molts . When a dragon molts, both its physical counterpart and the astral counterpart combine (on the astral plane of course) and go through a stage of rebirth. When this is done, the physical counterpart returns to earth and takes over the body of a cuccoon. The astral body is reborn from the old body on the astral plane, much like a snake will shed its skin. Now people will wonder how a butterfly can take over another butterflies body, since that in turn is like a dragon taking over anothers body. they dont. you see. when two butterflies mate, and create another physical body, its an empty canister, or...a caterpillar. this creature has no astral body, and mearly feeds on physical elements of earth. When the canister walks around for a long enough period of time (long enough to adapt to its surroundings, and make sure the environment is safe for the butterfly in the future) it enters into a cuccoon like state, where it waits until a dragon molt, and hatches into a newly formed butterfly. (different canisters can only hold certain species of dragons, hence a why all catipillars are essentially different) Now when a butterfly dies of unexpected incidences, a dragon can go through a forced molt. If the dragons old skin isnt yet fully matured, the dragon's body can overwork itself, and the dragon dies. (oh, by the way. The Astral plane and the physical plane are both essentially worlds of their own...or, the interworkings are the same. Dragons just happen to have another part thats attached to another plane, most creatures either have a physical or astral body, not both.) Thats basically my Dragon Theory. So, if anyones wondering, according to this theory, dragons DO infact exist on earth, they are mearly shaped in the form of butterflies :B So guys, dont kill butterflies. Think of the dragons. xD
