That's gorgeous! o:

Wow, that's really beautiful.

How do you get inspiration for these kind of works, I wonder? Do you look at images of gardens on the net? Or do you go out to real gardens? Or do you look at references of individual things like bridges/trees/rocks and just compile them together in your own way? I'm trying to teach myself to draw background images like this, but I have trouble getting any inspiration :/

I swear, I want to just jump into this, like it was a Mary Poppins chalk drawing :)

i get inspiration from a multitude of things :) normally when im looking up reference pictures on google, i come across things that inspire me. That, coupled with my need to experiement i normally produce some really weird/unique stuff. While i was nearing the end of this piece (looking up reference for some of the trees) i found an incredible designer [link] he inspired a lot of the trees you see in the picture. Im definitely going to be going back to him if i even have to do any other backgrounds, since the variety of plants he uses in his work is much more than i would ever think to use ._.

Unfortunately, i think the biggest inspiration for this piece was the deadline. i had to get it done by a certain date, so i just worked until i became inspired xD;

Oh wow, thanks for the link! I can really see a connection with that designer and your artwork - the colours, the feel of the pieces are very similar, but both still very original.

And I hear you on the deadline thing. Nothing like a bit of pressure to get the creative juices flowing!

I see you kept those light beams in the corner. From a second observation, they do seem as distracting as they were the first time.

No animals were harmed in the making of this comment. A Cat got sick and a tazer hit a duck, but that was pretty much it.

i was actually going to take them out in the final piece, but then i forgot since its been so long and just put it up her ^^; if it really bothers you that much ill upload the ones without it

I believe I messed my last comment up with a spelling error. When I said "they do seem as distracting as they were the first time" I meant to say "they don't seem as . . . etc." Sorry about the mix up. :doh:
